Android Show: I/O Edition previews Android 17, Gemini and more
Google’s Android Show: I/O Edition streams May 12 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET as a short, Android-only preview ahead of Google I/O. Expect looks at the next Android update (Android 17), Gemini features integrated into Android, and possible teases of Aluminium OS and Android XR. The livestream is brief (about 20 minutes) compared with the main keynote, with features to watch including app bubbles and expanded location controls (one-time sharing). Aluminium OS could appear with a launch window around 2026–2028 and may not support older Chromebooks; a teased Liquid Glass redesign in the teaser is denied by Google.
