KC Izakaya Anjin Earns Spot on Bon Appétit's Best New Restaurants List
Bon Appétit named Anjin, Kansas City's 20-seat izakaya, to its national Best New Restaurants list, making Anjin KC's sole entrant and a James Beard finalist this year; the intimate, seasonally changing menu features yakitori, a tempura-soft-shell crab sandwich, seared summer eel, and a bar program with Japanese ingredients like a togarashi negroni and a green-tea-infused highball, as owners Nick Goellner, Leslie Newsame Goeller, and partner Drew Little continue to gain national recognition; Anjin trailed Lei of New York, which won the Best New Restaurant award this year.
