Stepbrother indicted on federal charges in Anna Kepner’s cruise-ship death
Anna Kepner’s 16-year-old stepbrother has been indicted on federal murder and aggravated sexual abuse charges in connection with Kepner’s death aboard a Carnival Horizon cruise ship. Prosecutors say the alleged sexual assault and killing occurred in international waters during the family trip, and the case has been moved to adult prosecution. Kepner died from mechanical asphyxiation, and the stepbrother has been placed in the custody of a guardian as the family seeks accountability.
