Anne Carson Wins 2026 Nobel Prize for Literature
Canadian poet and classicist Anne Carson has been awarded the 2026 Nobel Prize in Literature. The Swedish Academy recognized her for a 'bold and inventive' body of work that reimagines classical myths through modern forms, including verse novels and graphic novels. Carson, 76, received 12 million Swedish kronor and plans to donate the prize money. She was surprised by the announcement while in Iceland.
