Seattle Council Unanimously Expands Civil Rights to Cover Polyamory and Asexuality
The Seattle City Council unanimously voted to expand local anti-discrimination laws to include polyamory, pansexuality, and asexuality. The measure, sponsored by Councilmember Alexis Mercedes Rinck, also protects consensual non-monogamous relationships and multigenerational households. The law takes effect in June 2027, making Seattle the largest city in the US to adopt such protections.
