Russian authorities raid homes of anti-torture activists.
The homes of lawyers from the Russian anti-torture NGO, The Crew Against Torture (CAT), were raided by law enforcement authorities in Nizhny Novgorod. The reason for the raids and the charges against the lawyers are not yet clear. The NGO has been repeatedly added to Russia's registry of "foreign agents" since 2015. The latest raids come a day after a Moscow court disbanded the Sova Analytical Center, one of the country's leading anti-racism research centers.
