Firaxis Games announced 'Arc of Tomorrow,' a major free update for Civilization VII launching in 2027. This update introduces the Atomic Age, spanning the 1950s to the 2050s, featuring new nuclear mechanics, proxy warfare via city-states, and a return of leader Gandhi. A paid expansion, 'Earthrise,' will follow later in 2027, focusing on space exploration and environmental management. An interim update, 1.5.0, arrives in September 2026 with map and diplomacy improvements.
