Visa, Mastercard Settle $197M ATM Fee Lawsuit

Visa and Mastercard have agreed to a $197.5 million settlement to resolve a class action lawsuit accusing them of keeping ATM fees high. The settlement, pending court approval, could benefit over 100 million Americans who withdrew money from bank-operated ATMs and paid fees since October 1, 2007. Notices will be sent out via email and targeted ads if approved. This follows a recent $5.54 billion settlement involving the companies and 18 million businesses over credit and debit card fees.
