ZZ Top Returns to Stage in Austin After Frank Beard’s Death, Introduces Michael Monahan
ZZ Top returned to the stage at ACL Live in Austin for their first show since drummer Frank Beard’s death, with Michael Monahan stepping in as drummer. Billy Gibbons framed the night as a celebration, introduced Monahan, and the trio delivered a high-energy set of blues-rock classics and new material, including Billy Gibbons’s "Brown Paper Bag," ending with the encore of "La Grange." The current tour runs through late November.
