Autodesk has finally updated its professional applications AutoCAD and Maya to run natively on M1 and M2 chips after two years and four months since the first Apple Silicon Mac hit the market. The update adds new features and claims to increase overall performance by up to two times compared to the previous version. Autodesk's efforts to support Apple Silicon have been ongoing for an interminably long time, but it's here now.

AutoCAD 2024 Boosts Speed with Native Apple Silicon Support

Autodesk has announced that the updated AutoCAD 2024 and AutoCad LT 2024 software for macOS can now run natively on Apple silicon Macs, bringing performance improvements to those who have M1 and M2 series Macs. The native Apple silicon support can increase performance by up to two times compared to the non-optimized 2023 software. Other new features include Markup Import, Markup Assist, Smart Blocks Placement, Trace Updates, and more.
