The FIA has modified the barrier at Turns 1 and 2 of the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve after complaints from drivers during the Canadian Grand Prix. The barrier had been extended towards Turn 2 for safety reasons, but drivers were unsure about the ideal way to rejoin the track after running wide at Turn 1. The FIA has now shortened the barrier and added instructions for drivers to rejoin the track at the far end of the asphalt run-off at the entry of Turn 2.
