Family sues Kebab Shop and supplier after child's E. coli illness tied to beef kofta
A Costa Mesa family is suing The Kebab Shop and its supplier Olympia Foods after their 3-year-old daughter developed acute kidney failure and was hospitalized for 17 days following a meal containing beef kofta, linked to an E. coli outbreak investigated by state and federal health agencies. The outbreak has nine illnesses, five hospitalizations, and two cases of hemolytic uremic syndrome; the incident occurred around March 27–April 30, with the supplier cut off and product removal later in May.
