Arizona congressional candidate discloses August sexual assault during late-night campaign work
Democratic candidate Bernadette Greene-Placentia for Arizona’s 8th Congressional District disclosed that she was sexually assaulted by two men on August 14 while repairing campaign signs in Sun City. The attack occurred after 2 a.m., resulting in a blackout and subsequent assault. Greene-Placentia delayed reporting the incident due to shame but eventually contacted the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office. The investigation remains active, and the candidate has ceased late-night sign repairs.
