Trek Domane 2027 goes lean, ditching IsoSpeed for a lighter, simpler endurance ride
Trek Domane Gen 5 strips IsoSpeed and other cobble-taming tech to shave weight and simplify the package, delivering a lighter, more straightforward endurance road bike with greater tyre clearance (up to 40 mm), easier servicing via external routing and frame/top-tube bag mounts, and a lower entry price, but at the cost of reduced frame sizes (nine down to six) and the loss of down-tube storage. Frame weight is competitive, with an unpainted ML frame around 835 g and a top SLR build claimed at 6.63 kg, while most builds hover above 7 kg; the bike uses two layups (900-series SLR and 500-series SL) and offers modern compatibility at the expense of IsoSpeed’s comfort features.
