87-Year-Old Apple Investor Buys First Ferrari EV for $40M in Charity Auction
Herbert Wertheim, an 87-year-old billionaire who has held Apple stock since its 1980 IPO, purchased the first production Ferrari Luce for $40 million at an RM Sotheby's auction. The sale, which exceeded the pre-sale estimate by 36 times, donated all proceeds to the Ferrari Foundation. The car, designed in collaboration with Jony Ive's LoveFrom studio, is Ferrari's first fully electric vehicle.
