United's Premium-Heavy A321XLR Expands Europe Reach

United unveiled two new A321 variants—the long-range A321XLR and the A321neo Coastliner—at a Newark media event, signaling a premium-heavy strategy as it expands Europe-bound service. The A321XLR will launch international routes to Amsterdam and Dublin this December and features a 20-seat Polaris Business Class with sliding doors, a 12-seat Premium Plus cabin, 36 Economy Plus with a fixed middle-seat row to mimic added space, and 82 standard economy seats, plus a rear snack bar. This comes as United also announced a 13-route expansion for 2027.
