
Solano County halts billionaire-backed shipyard push, derailing Newsom's plan
Solano County Supervisors voted 3-2 to oppose California Forever’s plan to use an 18-year-old environmental review and exempt 1,350 acres from the California Environmental Quality Act for a new shipbuilding facility, effectively killing the initiative for 2026. The decision cited concerns about rushed process and insufficient labor and tribal input, leaving the proposal to be revisited next year.
