Windows 11 storage bug swallows hundreds of GBs; patch KB5095093 fixes it
A Windows 11 bug can inflate the System or System & reserved storage by hundreds of gigabytes due to the CapabilityAccessManager.db-wal write-ahead log. Check via Settings > System > Storage (Show more categories) or use a Robocopy check of the CapabilityAccessManager folder to see if the wal file has ballooned. Microsoft has released KB5095093 with builds 26200.8737 and 26100.8737 to fix disk-space usage; the update is available through Windows Update optional updates or in the July Patch Tuesday rollout.
