Torrance Teacher Identified as Suspect in WHCD Shooting
31-year-old Cole Tomas Allen of Torrance has been identified as the suspect in the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner shooting and faces federal charges, including two counts of using a firearm and one count of assault on a federal officer; investigators said warrants were being sought to search addresses linked to him in Torrance after the incident in Washington, which prompted President Trump to be evacuated and left a security officer wounded. Allen, a CalTech graduate with a CS master’s from Cal State Dominguez Hills, has worked as a teacher and indie game developer and previously donated to Kamala Harris’ 2024 campaign; authorities have not disclosed a motive.
