Inflation Gauge Cools, Offering Hope for Central Banks

The Federal Reserve's preferred inflation measure, the "core" Personal Consumption Expenditures index, showed a slight moderation in May, with prices rising 4.6 percent from the previous year, excluding food and fuel.
