A new 3D visualization created from observations made by the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) showcases about 5,000 galaxies in the early Universe, including Maisie's Galaxy, which formed 390 million years after the Big Bang. The visualization provides insights into galaxy formation and evolution during the Epoch of Reionization. The Cosmic Evolution Early Release Science Survey (CEERS) team used JWST data to study the composition and differences of these early galaxies compared to those closer to us. CEERS aims to understand the growth and evolution of galaxies, star formation, and the growth of black holes in the early Universe. The observations have exceeded expectations, revealing a large number of galaxies and sparking questions about star formation processes. The success of CEERS builds on the legacy of the Hubble Space Telescope and its contributions to our understanding of the early Universe.
