Kim Jong Un Crosses New Bridge to Dandong for Korean War Memorial
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un completed a one-day visit to the Chinese border city of Dandong on October 24, 2026, crossing the newly opened New Yalu River Bridge. The trip, his first to China in over a year, was timed to coincide with the 76th anniversary of Chinese intervention in the Korean War. Kim met with Wang Huning, a senior Chinese official, and paid tribute at a war memorial. The visit highlights deepening ties between Beijing and Pyongyang, particularly regarding trade and diplomatic support, while analysts note it may also serve to counterbalance North Korea's growing military alliance with Russia.
