Ukraine Strikes Third Yandex Data Center in a Week, Disrupting Russian AI Infrastructure
Ukrainian drones struck a Yandex data center in Vladimir on October 10, marking the third attack on the Russian tech giant's facilities in one week. The strike, which followed hits on sites in Sasovo and Kaluga, completely suspended operations at the Vladimir facility and disrupted services for millions of Russian users. Yandex confirmed no injuries but noted that its AI training supercomputers and cloud services remain offline. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky framed the attacks as a 'symmetrical response' to Russian strikes on Ukrainian digital infrastructure, while US President Donald Trump criticized Ukraine for targeting Russian refineries and suggested Kyiv should replace its leadership.
