Rourke Loses L.A. Home to Eviction After Rent Dues Near $60K
A Los Angeles County court granted a landlord a default judgment against actor Mickey Rourke, canceling his Drexel Avenue lease and forfeiting the rental agreement after he fell about $59,100 behind on three-bedroom rent. The landlord proved proper notice and Rourke’s failure to respond to the lawsuit, enabling eviction. The home near The Grove—built in the 1920s and once occupied by Raymond Chandler—has now forfeited the lease. A GoFundMe raised roughly $90,000 for Rourke, though he said he wasn’t involved; his manager later acknowledged organizing the fundraiser.
