Judge Warns Trump Mail-In Rule Could Trigger Major Disenfranchisement
A Boston federal judge warned that moving ahead with a Trump administration plan to restrict mail-in ballots could cause so much chaos that states would experience major disenfranchisement. In a two-hour hearing, she questioned DOJ and Republican-state attorneys about implementing the rule on the eve of early voting, after previously blocking the rule for 14 days and signaling that she may extend the injunction; the case is likely to reach the Supreme Court.
