Midland Active Shooter Case Concludes: Suspect Dead, 10 Injured, Roads Closed
A suspect identified as Victor Mata Villarreal, 45, fired at officers and bystanders in Midland, Texas, barricaded himself in an abandoned veterinary clinic, and was found dead after a standoff around 12:30 p.m. CST. One person was killed and ten injured; Villarreal had been wanted for attempted capital murder of a peace officer following a vehicle pursuit on June 10, 2026.
