Alliance Arts cancels Drunken Goddess Reflux demo to prevent AI cloning

Developer Alliance Arts has canceled the public Steam demo for its upcoming horror gambling title, Drunken Goddess Reflux, citing fears that generative AI tools could clone the game’s mechanics and art before its official launch. The studio will instead host a limited closed beta. This decision highlights growing industry anxiety over AI-driven piracy, as the game has already amassed over 25,000 Steam followers and ranks 65th in wishlists despite being revealed only recently.

Alliance Arts cancels public demo for Drunken Goddess Reflux to prevent AI cloning

Developers of the drinking game Drunken Goddess Reflux have cancelled a planned public demo scheduled for October 19, opting instead for limited-access online sessions. The decision stems from concerns that generative AI tools could be used to clone the game’s presentation and mechanics, potentially allowing copycats to release a replica before the official launch. While the studio cited staffing limitations as a secondary reason for the change, the primary driver appears to be the fear of rapid AI-driven imitation, a growing trend in the industry.
