Eight aboard seaplane crash-lands in NYC's East River; injuries minor
A Kodiak 100 seaplane carrying eight people made a hard landing in the East River near Manhattan’s Skyport at 23rd Street, leaving the aircraft partially submerged. Video from inside the cabin captured the moment of impact as passengers and crew reacted. Emergency crews rescued everyone on board; injuries were reported as minor. The operator, Acadian Seaplanes via Blade Air, blamed choppy waters and passing boats for the landing, and an investigation is ongoing.
