Raiders owners weigh succession plan that could elevate Egon Durban to controlling stake
NFL owners will vote at the spring meeting in Phoenix on a Raiders succession plan that would allow Silver Lake co-CEO Egon Durban to purchase a majority stake from Mark Davis, potentially placing him as the future controlling owner. Durban already holds a minority stake (about 7.5%) and has been involved in the organization, with a second minority stake offered to limited partner Michael Meldman; Davis, who turned 71 and recently inherited his mother’s shares, has not indicated an intent to sell. The plan would require owners’ approval to finalize Durban as the new controlling owner if/when a sale occurs.
