Albuquerque braces for life-threatening flash floods as storms roll in
Heavy thunderstorms moved through the Albuquerque metro, triggering life-threatening flash flooding as Embudo Arroyo rose above 10 feet. Floodwaters were reported in low-lying and flood-prone areas across Albuquerque and nearby communities (Los Ranchos, North Valley, Sandia Heights, South Valley, Alameda), with rainfall totals around 0.5–1.5 inches and the potential for more. The warning also covers I-40 (mile markers 157–168) and I-25 (mile markers 222–233).
