ULA's Vulcan Rocket Test Fire Cut Short by Ignition Delay at Cape Canaveral
United Launch Alliance's (ULA) Vulcan rocket's first engine test fire was halted due to a delayed response from the booster engine ignition system. The rocket will be rolled back into ULA's protective Vertical Integration Facility for technicians to assess the booster's ignition system. The test is a critical milestone the company must ace ahead of the debut flight of the Vulcan, which is expected to launch later this summer. Vulcan is designed to replace ULA's entire fleet of rockets and will launch from the same pad used by Atlas V.
