Iceland's EU Referendum Heads for a Tight Call as Turnout Surges
Iceland’s EU referendum is set for a razor-thin result after preliminary turnout figures show higher noon participation in Reykjavík than the 2024 election, with early voting topping 20%. A final poll puts Yes at 50.4% and No at 49.6%; a Yes would restart EU talks on about 35 areas, including fisheries, with the government divided between closer integration and preserving sovereignty.
