
Stimulation reshapes gene-linked neural assemblies in the human brain
A study using an ex vivo platform combines microelectrode array stimulation with recording and single-nucleus RNA sequencing on resected human temporal cortex, showing that stimulation strengthens cell assemblies and links these changes to cell-type–specific gene regulatory networks; they also identify common gene-expression signatures after in vivo stimulation, suggesting targets for neuromodulation therapies and providing a foundation for genetics-guided brain stimulation.
