Android 17 with One UI 9.0 is rolling out to Google Pixel devices first; Samsung will follow, but a large portion of Galaxy devices—especially Galaxy A-series mid-rangers and high-end models such as the Galaxy S21 FE, S22, and Z Fold 4—will miss the upgrade.
Samsung says its Camera Assistant app will now support 19 additional Galaxy devices as One UI 8.5 rolls out, spanning mid-range A and M series phones and multiple Galaxy Tab S tablets, enabling deeper customization of the stock camera with options like auto lens switching, autofocus tweaks, timer-shot adjustments, Auto HDR, and HDR10+ video recording.
Samsung says One UI 8.5 will roll out to most eligible Galaxy devices, but a German press release suggests older mid-range Galaxy A, F, and M models from 2022 or earlier may not receive the update, potentially leaving budget devices on older software despite promises of multiple OS upgrades.

Samsung has started rolling out the April 2023 security update for a wide range of Galaxy phones, including the Galaxy S23, S22, S20, Z Flip 4, Z Fold 4, and A52. The update includes a total of 66 fixes for security flaws, including a fix for a flaw in Exynos chips and modems. Samsung's affordable models, such as the Galaxy A22 5G, are also receiving the update. Users can manually check for the update by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
