Nassau Harbor Yields Pirates’ Shipwrecks from the Golden Age
Six shipwrecks were found around Nassau Harbor, three connected to the Golden Age of Piracy, including vessels with iron cannons, swivel guns, and cargo evidence. The discoveries—made with restricted-harbor diving permission—offer new insights into pirate life and Bahamian trade, with results published in Wreckwatch Magazine and a companion documentary featuring a historically based 3D reconstruction of Nassau’s pirate settlement circa 1715.
