Triple-action diabetes jab delivers major weight and sugar reductions
Phase 3 results show retatrutide, a weekly triple-hormone jab targeting GLP-1, GIP and glucagon, significantly lowers HbA1c and promotes substantial weight loss in type 2 diabetes after 40 weeks (HbA1c down ~1.7–1.9 points; weight loss ~11.5–15.3% vs 2.6% placebo), with mostly mild-to-moderate side effects. The drug could offer greater improvements than current therapies, but head-to-head trials and long-term data are still needed.
