Gibney’s Four-Hour Elon Musk Doc to Premiere at Venice
Alex Gibney’s long-gestating Elon Musk documentary will world-premiere at the Venice Film Festival with a 232-minute runtime, delivering a definitive, unvarnished look at Musk’s career and public persona. Backed by HBO Documentary Films and Bleecker Street, the project faced editing delays as Musk’s headlines evolved, including his political activity, before its U.S. release on Oct. 16 via Bleecker Street. HBO will hold North American TV/streaming rights, with international sales handled by Black Bear. Venice festival director Alberto Barbera highlighted the film’s four-hour length as a bold statement for the portrait of the world’s first trillionaire.
