Grindr agrees £26m payout in privacy settlement over HIV data
Grindr will pay £26m to settle a UK/US class-action accusing it of sharing users’ personal data, including HIV status, with third parties before 2020 under Kunlun’s ownership. The company denies liability but will make two £13m payments, one by 31 December and a second by 31 March 2027. The suit involved more than 11,000 claimants and Grindr says it has since overhauled its privacy practices.
