Acer unveils the Predator Atlas 7, a 7-inch Windows handheld that can pair with Intel Arc G3 or Arc G3 Extreme GPUs, supports up to 24GB of RAM and 1TB SSD, and features an 80Wh battery with a dual‑fan cooling system and PredatorSense UI; pricing isn’t announced and North American availability is slated for Q4 2026, positioning it as a smaller, premium alternative to Atlas 8 and rivals like the Asus ROG Xbox Ally X20.
Linux 7.1 is now stable, introducing a new NTFS driver, Intel FRED optimizations for Panther Lake and future CPUs, and faster Intel Arc Battlemage graphics, along with various driver updates and performance tweaks.
Intel revealed the Arc G3 as a handheld-focused GPU-with-integrated-CPU, built from fallout Panther Lake dies and stripped of IP blocks to fit a tight 12–13 W SoC power envelope; core count drops from 4 to 2, display engines from 3 to 2, and Thunderbolt from 4 to 2 to hit thermal targets. Power Management v3.5 parks P-cores under low power so the E-cores handle the workload for steadier frame delivery; XeSS Frame Gen imposes a rasterization tax, and Endurance Gaming mode currently doesn’t support Frame Gen. A cloud-based shader pre-compilation pipeline further reduces load times, as Intel positions Arc G3 as a dedicated handheld challenger to Ryzen Z-series.
MSI officially unveils the Claw 8 EX AI+ handheld powered by Intel Arc G3 Extreme (Panther Lake) with a 14-core CPU and 12 Xe3 GPU cores (Arc B39 graphics). It sports an 8-inch FHD+ IPS display (48–120Hz, VRR, up to 500 nits), up to 32GB LPDDR5X RAM, a Gen4 NVMe SSD, Wi‑Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, dual Thunderbolt 4, an 80Wh battery, and a light chassis similar to the Claw 8 AI+. Dell's XPS 16 (2026) delivers a stylish, big 16-inch chassis with an optional OLED display, solid performance from Intel Panther Lake CPUs and integrated Arc graphics, and strong battery life, but its premium price and limited upgradeability (soldered RAM, no second SSD slot, no SD card slot) limit its appeal for graphics-heavy tasks compared with some rivals.
Intel says Pearl Abyss ignored offers to test and optimize Intel Arc GPU support for Crimson Desert, despite years of outreach and early hardware/engineering help. The game’s FAQ points Arc users to refunds, and Steam refunds remain available within two weeks of purchase.
Intel says it has spent years helping Pearl Abyss test, validate, and optimize Crimson Desert for Intel GPUs, providing early hardware, drivers, and engineering resources across generations, but the game still won’t launch on Arc GPUs at launch; Intel remains ready to assist Pearl Abyss, while Pearl Abyss has directed Arc users to seek refunds.
Ultrabookreview.com breaks down Intel Panther Lake (Core Ultra Series 3), outlining three sub-lineups (X7/X9 with Arc B390 iGPU for high performance, Ultra 9/7 300H for mainstream, and Ultra 5/7 300 for efficiency) and listing every current laptop built on Panther Lake, from premium X9/X7 models with Arc graphics to mid-range Ultra configurations and high-end dGPUs; it includes high-level performance notes (roughly 10% CPU gains over Lunar Lake, up to 50% multi-thread gains, Arc B390 delivering top GPU performance) and a large, evolving roster of devices across major brands.
The article compares the performance of Intel's modern Xe kernel driver versus the older i915 driver on Linux 6.19 for the Intel Arc A580 GPU, highlighting that the Xe driver offers design improvements and better support for modern architectures, but the A750 and A770 GPUs were not functional on Linux 6.19 during testing.
