Toy Story 5 Extends World Box Office Lead as Supergirl Falters Globally
Toy Story 5 is nearing $600 million worldwide after a $159.1 million global weekend (89.1 million offshore in 49 markets), pushing its total to about $585 million worldwide ($297.2 million domestic, $287.8 million international) and keeping it No. 1 globally. Supergirl opened to $68 million worldwide, with roughly $30 million from overseas in 77 markets, but the film underperformed with international audiences. Minions & Monsters launched offshore with about $10 million in ten territories as the summer box office heats up. Heatwaves in parts of Europe did not derail overall foreign performance and the year’s box office momentum remains strong.
