India Allowed Iranian Warships to Dock Days Before Iris Dena Was Torpedoed
India granted docking permission on 1 March for three Iranian warships, three days before the Iris Dena was torpedoed by a US submarine and sank about 20 nautical miles west of Galle, Sri Lanka, killing at least 87 sailors. Iris Lavan docked in Kochi on 4 March, and Sri Lanka later granted sanctuary to Iris Bushehr on 5 March, illustrating mounting regional tensions as the US-Israel campaign against Iran continues.
