The conference, organized by the Pakistan Ummah Unity Assembly, featured speakers such as Ismail Haniyeh, who called for Pakistan to play a more active role in the conflict. Haniyeh referred to Jews as the "biggest enemy of Muslims" and expressed hope for success in destroying Israel's weapons. The conference attendees recognized Hamas fighters as a "political force" engaged in defensive jihad. The convention took place two months after Hamas terrorists attacked southern Israel, resulting in numerous casualties and hostages. Hamas has demanded the release of Palestinian prisoners in exchange for the release of hostages and stated that no more hostages will be released until the war ends.
