Major destinations like Easter Island, Dubai, and India are expected to appear in year four. The company also plans to launch a "Dive Around the World" program, offering scuba certification and opportunities for ocean clean-ups and coral propagation. The cruise starts at $38,513 per year per cabin for two people, with everything included.
Royal Caribbean has cancelled all Panama Canal transits for its ship Rhapsody of the Seas during the winter 2023-2024 season. Instead, the sailings have been adjusted to Southern Caribbean itineraries, with no Panama Canal transit included. Guests have three options: stay on the adjusted sailing with price protection, rebook on another Royal Caribbean sailing with waived deposit change fees, or cancel and receive a full refund. The reason for the cancellation has not been provided, but speculation suggests rising costs and fees associated with the canal, limited transit availability due to low water levels, and potential scheduling conflicts with cruise ship traffic. Longer one-way Panama Canal cruises are still available for booking on other Royal Caribbean ships.
Princess Cruises has announced its longest itinerary ever, a 116-day around-the-world voyage that will visit 51 destinations across six continents. The voyage will begin on Jan. 5, 2025, in Fort Lauderdale, and end on May 2, 2025, after a nine-night Atlantic crossing from Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands. Fares for the 116-night sailing start at $20,539 per person, based on double occupancy, and early booking benefits include free airfare, a free Princess Plus package, extra onboard spending money, free specialty dining, and extra savings for Captain’s Circle members.
