Samsung announced a partnership with CLEAR to bring Samsung ID with CLEAR to Samsung Wallet, enabling travelers to verify their identity on compatible Samsung devices at over 250 TSA checkpoints for domestic flights without a physical ID. Users add Samsung ID with CLEAR via Samsung Wallet's Digital IDs menu; CLEAR membership is free, with the premium CLEAR+ option available at $209/year.

Samsung Electronics has added Digital Home Key to Samsung Wallet, a feature built on the Aliro standard that lets Galaxy users unlock compatible smart door locks via their phone using NFC or UWB (and remotely through the app) after onboarding through SmartThings and Matter. Samsung has announced that users will soon be able to upload their driver's licenses and state IDs to Samsung Wallet, with plans to allow apps to use the ID for age authentication in the future. This move comes as Samsung catches up with Apple in bringing digital verification technology to its products. Initially, users from Arizona and Iowa will be able to add their documents to Samsung Wallet, with more states expected to be added later. Samsung is also working with the US Transportation Security Administration on a test program to accept smartphone-based IDs at select airports. In early 2024, Samsung will release a software development kit for developers to integrate online age and identification information into their apps.
Samsung Wallet has partnered with Transact Campus to allow students at 68 colleges and universities in the USA to store their student ID information on the platform. Students can use Samsung Wallet to unlock doors at academic buildings and dorm rooms, as well as make NFC-based payments at select participating higher education institutions. The Power Reserve feature enables students to use their digital IDs even when their phones are powered off due to low batteries. The student ID information is stored in a secure environment on the device for maximum security.
