Padres Survive Elimination Threat as Brewers Extend Historic Road Playoff Drought
The San Diego Padres defeated the Milwaukee Brewers 4-3 in Game 3 of the National League Division Series on October 6, 2026, forcing a Game 4. The series remains tied 2-1 in Milwaukee's favor. Michael King, who started Game 2 just two days prior, closed the game with a six-out save, striking out Christian Yelich to end the game. The Padres overcame the absence of closer Mason Miller and reliever Adrian Morejón, utilizing a deep bullpen to survive a late Brewers rally. The victory prevented the Brewers from clinching the series and extended their 12-game road playoff losing streak.
