Olsen exits 'grand conspiracy' probe but stays on DOJ payroll amid staffing crisis
Kurt Olsen, a 2020 election denier and senior counsel in the Southern District of Florida, has stepped down from the Justice Department's 'grand conspiracy' investigation but remains employed by the agency. His departure marks the third prosecutor to leave the case this year, following the exits of Maria Medetis Long and Joe diGenova. The probe, which targets Obama- and Biden-era officials, has faced significant internal turmoil, including misinterpreted resignation emails and security clearance issues, with no charges yet filed.
