NYT Games Director Killed by In-Laws Amid Custody Dispute
Jonathan McKinsey, 40, director of engineering for New York Times Games, was fatally shot on Saturday afternoon in the parking lot of Dublin Sports Grounds in Dublin, California. Police arrested his 77-year-old in-laws, Shouyong Zhang and Shili Chen, within minutes of the incident. The suspects were booked into Santa Rita Jail on suspicion of murder and conspiracy. The shooting occurred during an active divorce and child custody dispute between McKinsey and his wife, Candice Jang, with a hearing scheduled for the following month. Court records reveal competing allegations of domestic violence and child abuse between the couple, as well as claims by McKinsey that his in-laws directed anti-LGBTQ+ slurs at him and his children.
