Kallas halts high-profile EU defense think-tank amid EEAS reform clash
EU's top diplomat Kaja Kallas canceled the planned launch of a high-level group of former political and military leaders meant to brainstorm defense improvements, after pressure from several member states and amid friction over Franco-German EEAS reform plans that could shift power toward the Commission. The initiative, headed to be chaired by Anders Fogh Rasmussen and potentially include figures like Jüri Luik and Florence Parly, was scrapped in favor of exploring other ways to engage member states.
