Severe thunderstorms and tornado watch in effect for Midwest region.
A tornado watch has been issued for parts of the KMBC viewing area, including northeast Kansas and northwest Missouri, until 11 p.m. on Wednesday. The Kansas City area has the chance to see strong to severe thunderstorms overnight, with the greatest severe weather risk across extreme northeast Kansas and northwest Missouri. Very large hail, damaging winds, and even a tornado or two cannot be ruled out. The rain is expected to end early Thursday morning, and colder and blustery conditions are expected for the rest of the week.
