PS5 Emulator Runs on Xbox Series X, but Memory Limits Block Major Games
A developer has successfully ported the open-source KytyPS5 emulator to the Xbox Series X, allowing it to run specific PlayStation 5 titles. The project, named PS5X, functions only in Microsoft’s Developer Mode, which restricts memory usage to 5GB. This limitation prevents the emulation of most modern games, which typically require 13.5GB of memory on retail consoles. While the emulator can run older or lighter titles like Quake II, it lacks public availability and cannot bypass the hardware constraints imposed by Microsoft’s developer environment.
